Pippi Longstocking in Þingeyri

The sports club Höfrungurinn (‘The Dolphin’) in Þingeyri (population 262) in Iceland’s West Fjords will stage the play Pippi Longstocking by Astrid Lindgren later this winter, bb.is reports.

A meeting will take place in the search and rescue building at 8:30 pm tonight where people who want to take part in the play can come and register. And the production team isn’t only looking for actors; plumbers, light-masters, seamstresses, carpenters, and make-up artists are also in demand.

The plan is to premier the Pippi play in early March. The director is Elfar Logi Hannesson.
