October is the month of the pink ribbon in Iceland and various companies and institutions support the initiative, for example by casting a pink glow on their headquarters throughout the month. Also, October 24 is the Women’s Day Off in Iceland.
Among performers are Lay Low, Kristjana Arngrímsdóttir, Eythór Ingi Jónsson, Óskar Pétursson, the chamber choir Ísold, members of the North Iceland Symphony Orchestra and the bands Hvanndalsbraedur and Hundur í óskilum.
The ticket (which costs ISK 1,200 (USD 10, EUR 8)) doubles as a lottery ticket and the night ends with prizes being announced and an auction of designer products. Guests are treated to an aperitif and light refreshments.
The function begins at 7:30 pm. Tickets can be bought at Hof from 1-7 pm and online (or by calling (+354) 450-1010 or emailing: [email protected]). A similar Women’s Night will be held at Harpa in Reykjavík tomorrow evening.
