The Icelandic Airline Pilots’ Association (FÍA) voted against the wage contract which FÍA and Icelandair signed on June 30 with a narrow majority of three votes on Monday.
While 51 percent of airline pilots rejected the new wage contract, 49 percent wanted to accept it. Kjartan Jónsson, managing director of FÍA told Fréttabladid that no decisions have been made as to what happens next.
When the new wage contract was negotiated last month, airline pilots refused to work overtime which caused considerable disturbances to Icelandair’s flight schedule.
