Photographs of around 1,000 Icelandic children taken in various locations around the country by Polish artists Anna Leoniak and Fiann Paul are being displayed in central Reykjavík as part of the Reykjavík Arts Festival, which was launched yesterday.
The art work is entitled “Dialogue” and is dedicated to the generation of Icelanders who hold the future of the country’s inhabited areas in their hands. The art work is also a memorial on beauty and the value of rural areas in Iceland’s countryside, Morgunbladid reports
The photographs are mounted on the wall which fences off the corner of Austurstraeti and Laekjargata in the heart of the city where two of Reykjavík’s oldest houses burnt down in April last year.
