Today the new Coast Guard cruiser Thór was welcomed at Midbakki in Reykjavík. The ship will be docked there the following three days during which visitors will be shown around the ship from 1 to 5 pm.

As reported yesterday, Thór will then embark on a journey around the country with stopovers in various harbors to give locals the chance to take a look at the new Coast Guard cruiser.
The arrival of Thór marks a milestone in the safety of fishermen and patrolling of Icelandic waters in regards to protection of the country’s resources, fisheries supervision, legal supervision and search and rescue.
