Photography Exhibition Different Opens in Reykjavík

Photography exhibition Different by German artist Claus Sterneck opens at Bistro & Bar GEYSIR next Thursday. It is a retrospective of his work, as well as photographs Sterneck took this summer.

With Different Claus wants to show another Iceland, via details taken from an unexpected, fresh angle. Pattern, colors and shapes often get lost because of the country’s overwhelming beauty. But taking a closer look, suddenly a new Iceland appears.

Claus Sterneck recently returned from his last exhibition, a joint exhibition with fellow German Tina Bauer, at the old Djúpavík herring factory in the West Fjord. Most of this exhibition’s photographs were taken in the area of Djúpavík, where Sterneck has spent the four last summers.

After many years of visiting Iceland on regular basis, the photographer, in 2008, moved to Reykjavík from Frankfurt, Germany.

The exhibition „Different“ opens on Thursday September 10, at 5 pm and will continue until the end of November.
