The Independence Party snubbed President Olafur Ragnar Grímsson yesterday, prompting rebukes from other members of parliament.
The President invited parliament to a celebration of Iceland’s home rule on 1 December. Of the 20 Independence Party parliamentarians invited, only three showed up.
“These people have the social development of 10 year olds,” said Mördur Árnason, Alliance Party parliamentarian, of the snub.
