A man in his twenties has been sentenced to one year in prison by the Supreme Court of Iceland for killing a passenger in his car and a five-year-old girl in a car that he crashed into, as well as causing severe injury to the girl’s brother.
The man was driving on the wrong side of the road of Sudurlandsvegur, the south Iceland highway, because he was overtaking a truck during poor conditions, Fréttabladid reports.
The man then crashed into another car with the aforementioned consequences. The boy is paralyzed below waist. After the accident, the accused was caught speeding on nine occasions. The man has since been stripped of his license to drive.
