Ólöf Arnalds in Concert at Culture House

Icelandic singer-songwriter Ólöf Arnalds will play songs from her forthcoming album Innundir skinni at the Culture House in Reykjavík tonight.

Ólöf Arnalds.

The album features more elaborate arrangements and instrumentation than Arnalds’ debut, Vid og Vid, with vocals sung both in Icelandic and English.

Innundir skinni comes in the wake of widespread critical accolades for Vid og Vid, which was released in the US last week.

Arnalds’s voice has been singled out for high praise as “otherworldly” by The New York Times, “remarkable” by the NME and “ethereal” by Vanity Fair. eMusic went so far as to name Vid og Vid as one of the 100 Best Albums of the Decade, a press release states.

Innundir skinni is set for worldwide release in the spring.

The Culture House opens at 7:30 pm and the concert begins at 8 pm. Tickets cost ISK 2,000 (USD 16, EUR 11) and can be bought at midi.is. The event is sponsored by the Reykjavík Grapevine.
