The exhibition “Fram til fortídar” (“Forward to the Past”) is currently running at the National Museum in Reykjavík on behalf of the district museum Hvoll in Dalvík, north Iceland.
The concept of the exhibition is that artists choose an object at the district museum to inspire a new artwork. That is how innovation connects with the past in its way towards the future, a press release states.
The participants in the exhibition, Margrét Jónsdóttir, Thórdís Jónsdóttir, Íris Ólöf Sigurjónsdóttir and Thórarinn Blöndal, are all connected with the Dalvíkurbyggd municipality in one way or another.
The artists work with different materials, such as textile and clay.
The exhibition runs until November 28.
