Discussions with Icelandic author and executive vice president of Time Warner Ólafur Jóhann Ólafsson regarding acquiring shares in Geysir Green Energy (GGE) are in the final stages, according to a statement issued by GGE yesterday.
US-based investment bank Goldman Sachs is also expected to acquire a holding in the company. The combined investment of the new shareholders would amount to 8.5 percent of GGE’s share capital, Fréttabladid reports.
“We are delighted at the prospect of forming a partnership with Geysir,” Michael Feldman at Goldman Sachs said according to the statement. “Sustainable energy is set to play an increasingly important role in the global energy production and geothermal industry has a very strong growth potential.”
