Icelandic actor Ólafur Darri Ólafsson was voted Best Actor for his role in XL at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in the Czech Republic over the weekend.

XL, directed by Marteinn Þórsson, premiered earlier this year. Ólafur Darri said he was incredibly happy to win an international award for his performance. “I am nothing but incredibly grateful,” he said.
Established in 1946, Karlovy Vary is one of the oldest and most prestigious film festivals in the world, ruv.is reports. Around 200 films were screened at this year’s festival, June 28 to July 6.
