Despite the resignation of the mayor Thórólfur Arnason, whom the R-List had appointed, a recent survey shows that there has been no change in the popularity of the current Reykjavík government. Arnason resigned after reports showed that he had known about the collusion of the three major oil companies in Iceland.
Though Arnason was selected by the R-List, he was not a member of the party. The new mayor, Steinunn Valdis Óskarsdóttir is a member of the party.
