Obama’s Grandmother Visits Iceland

By Iceland Review

Sarah Obama, the grandmother of US President Barack Obama, arrived in Iceland yesterday, where she will stay for ten days. She came to raise awareness of the Kenyan Tears Children Charity, which has helped build schools in Kenya.

The charity is run by Paul Ramses, a Kenyan residing in Iceland, who organized Mrs. Obama’s trip to the country, Fréttabladid reports.

Sarah Obama is 82 and lives in Kenya. She is the third wife of the president’s paternal grandfather. Even though they don’t have blood relations, Mr. Obama speaks of her as his grandmother and has visited her after he took office.
