Now You Know the Future: Predictions for 2012

Völva Vikunnar, or Prophetess of weekly magazine Vikan, has cast her predictions for the nation in 2012, as she does every year.

The year 2012 will bring much volcanic activity to Iceland. The volcano Katla will erupt, also Hekla, as well as smaller ones in Vatnajökull glacier, and two eruptions close to Reykjavík the capital at Mt. Bláfjöll, the capital area ski resort, and on Reykjanes peninsula, where Keflavík International Airport is located. Völva Vikunnar also predicts that there will be an eruption in north Iceland, but she does not provide a location.
