November/December Atlantica Comes on Board

The November/December issue of Atlantica, Icelandair’s in-flight magazine, has been released just in time for the first snow to dust the countryside.

In this edition, Jonas Moody sits down for a chat with best-selling novelist Tracy Chevalier, who discusses her latest book, Burning Bright. Sara Blask brings you an interview with The Buried Life crew, a group of young men who have set out to take the world, one list at a time.

Alëx Elliott provides readers with a guide to the best Iceland has to offer during winter, including steamy hotpots, enticing libations, and a guide to decoding Icelandic Christmas legends.

This season Atlantica sends Jonas Moody to Toronto, Ontario to explore Canada’s city of plenty, peeking into ethnic neighborhoods and sampling the region’s celebrated ice wine. For another chilling experience, Sara Blask takes the readers along for a trip to Greenland’s melting ice cap for a moment to reflect on the drastic effect climate change is taking on the landscape of the north.

Editor Sveinn Gudmarsson takes us to underwater Egypt for a scuba adventure for sunken sightseeing. Finally, Alëx Elliott gives us a preview of the newest sparkling addition to Reykjavík’s night sky: Yoko Ono’s shining Imagine Peace Tower.

This issue also covers the saga of lost wallets from New York to Paris, an insider’s guide to Icelandic idioms, the best in local gastronomy from trawler to table, and last but not least, a remarkable photo spread on the wonders of Icelandic light.
