Not Much to do in Iceland for Construction Company

By Iceland Review

Icelandic construction company Ístak, one of the oldest and strongest construction companies in Iceland, is now finishing a large project at Búðarhálsvirkjun Power Station. The building project has been going on since the autumn of 2010, and will be finished before this Christmas, reports.

According to Ístak CEO Kolbeinn Kolbeinsson, there are few such projects ahead: “The outlook is bleak here in Iceland and we must try to counter that with some projects in Norway”.

Kolbeinn said that the number of Ístak employees in Iceland has been steadily declining. In the near future the company will have to cut back by a few dozen workers, but hopefully that will only be for a short time.
