The annual Northern Wave International Film Festival will be held in Grundarfjörður, west Iceland, March 2-4. The festival consists of a short film section and a music video section; featured bands are encouraged to support their videos with a concert.

Numerous screenings of a variety of international short films is planned and the program also includes a lecture from a professional from the film industry, a fish soup competition at the local fish market and numerous concerts and events over the weekend.
The philosophy of the festival is to revive the recognition of filmmaking as an art form. An important goal of the festival is to develop relationships between experienced filmmakers and emerging filmmakers in Iceland and other countries.
