The monthly Nordic music club night JA JA JA kicked off with a party at central London venue The Lexington on Thursday, featuring performances by bands selected from a shortlist by Huw Stephens of BBC Radio 1, including Iceland’s Kira Kira.
Every month, JA JA JA will showcase the best emerging talent from the Nordic countries: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, a press release states. Each night will feature specially invited British curators who will program the final lineup.
The club night aims to provide a strong independent platform where new “export ready” artists across multiple genres are able to showcase their music to key British music industry professionals, media, taste-makers and punters alike.
JA JA JA is an initiative supported by the Nordic Export Offices (NOMEX) represented by: Export Music Sweden, Music Export Denmark, Music Export Finland, Icelandic Music Export and Music Export Norway.
