Nordic House Launches Annual Christmas Calendar

By Iceland Review

The Nordic House, Reykjavík, has announced its annual Christmas Calendar―daily performances December 1-23 at 12:34 pm in the building’s Black Box on the lower floor.

Every day, a new calendar window is opened, revealing the artist of the day, followed by his or her performance. The list of participating artists is available in advance, but the date each and every one performs is kept secret until the last minute.

Guests will enjoy music, dance, reading, performance, yoga, or participating in a game. Before every performance, the Nordic House offers non-alcoholic mulled wine and gingerbread.

This year’s participating artists are: Lóa Hjálmtýsdóttir, Úlfur Úlfur, Snjólaug Lúðvíksdóttir, Teitur Magnússon, Milkywhale, Kársnesskóli Choir, Ísgerður Gunnarsdóttir, Jazztríó Andrésar Thors, Bollywood dance, Kriðpleir, Hið Íslenska gítartríó, Dalí, Sigríður Eyrún and Karl Olgeirsson, Jófríður Ákadóttir, Skuggamyndir frá Býsans, This Conversation is Missing a Point, Ragnar Helgi Ólafsson, Leitin að tilgangi unglingsáranna (‘The Search for the Purpose of the Teenage Years’), Jóga og eplaskífur (‘Yoga and Apple Slices’), Edda Björg and Stefán Magnússon, Ævar the scientist, Lára Rúnars, Árstíðir, P12:P27.

Since the order in which they perform is kept secret until they step on stage, this is an event for spontaneous people.

Entrance is free.
