Noon Organ Concert at Hallgrímskirkja Today

The association Listvinafélag Hallgrímskirkju has organized monthly noon concerts this season and today at noon Björn Steinar Sólbergsson, the organist of Hallgrímskirkja, the Reykjavík landmark church, will perform “Orgelbüchlein” by Johann Sebastian Bach.

The concert is entitled “Páskar”, or “Easter”, and also includes “Andante con moto, op. 16 No. 1” and “Offertoire sur O filii pour la fete de Paques, op. 49 No. 2” by the French composer Alexandre Guilmant, as it says in a press release.

Rev. Jón Dalbú Hróbjartsson will give an opening address reading from the Bible. Admission is free but voluntary contributions for the support of Listvinafélag Hallgrímskirkju will be accepted at the entrance. The concert begins at 12 pm.
