Meteorologists are forecasting a stormy and rainy Christmas Eve in southwest Iceland with temperatures reaching five to eight degrees in the capital region. The temperatures are expected to be even higher in north Iceland.

However, temperatures are expected to drop again on Christmas Day with intermittent snowstorms forecast for west Iceland, Morgunbladid reports.
According to information from the website of the Icelandic Meteorological Office, there have only been 35 completely white Christmas Days in Reykjavík since 1921.
