No Tourist Mugged in Iceland – It was a Lie!

According to the Reykjavík Metropolitan Police there was no truth to the story of a tourist being mugged in central Reykjavík yesterday.

The man claimed that a group of five men attacked a tourist in Reykjavík city center yesterday evening, threatening him with some sort of weapon.

Furthermore the man alleged that the attackers escaped with the man’s credit card and his PIN. The “victim” claimed to be shaken up.

The police said that the case was closed, and “in fact there was no case.” It is not known whether the storyteller will be charged with wasting police resources.
