No Cream for Christmas in Grímsey

Residents of Grímsey island off Iceland’s northern coast (the island lies on the Arctic Circle) were without cream and milk during Christmas. A delivery of goods was scheduled from the mainland but didn’t arrive, ruv.is reports.

In an interview with Morgunblaðið, owner of the island’s store, Anna María Sigvaldadóttir, said that it would take more than a lack of milk and cream to upset people, adding that the community (population roughly 90) was hardy in this northern most part of Iceland.
