No Artists Living outside Iceland’s Capital?

A total of 241 artists in Iceland have received government grants for 2013, 87 percent of whom live in the capital area, seven percent in other areas and six percent abroad, as pointed out by Ísafjörður-based news site bb.is.

The news site reports that six of the artists to receive grants have connections with—but no longer live in—the West Fjords town, including the writers Eiríkur Örn Norðdahl, Huldar Breiðfjörð, and Vilborg Davíðsdóttir, who have at one time or another worked as journalists for the newspaper.
