Ninety Percent of Icelanders Travel Locally

Last year, almost nine out of every ten Icelanders traveled locally, rú reports.

That is similar to previous years, according to a new survey conducted by the Icelandic Tourist Board. Two out of every three people traveled abroad in 2011, or 64.3 percent, compared to 56.3 percent in 2010.

July was, as usual, by far the most popular month for travelling domestically. 72 percent of Icelanders travelled during that month.

And in 2012 most people have travel of some sort on the agenda.
