New View of Skógafoss Waterfall

“We had to do something, and it’s almost ready,” says Ísólfur Gylfi Pálmason, chairman of Rángárþing eystra district council, to icelandreview.com about the new viewing platform by Skógafoss waterfall, South Iceland.

“The waterfall has become enormously popular with close to 300,000 visitors this year, and it’s hard on nature,” adds Ísólfur.

“The viewing platform is at the top of the waterfall, with new stairs leading up to it. It’s better for the visiting tourists and for the nature. Now there will be a single path leading up the stairs and to the top of the 60-meter high waterfall,” he concludes.
