New Record Store Opens in Reykjavík

By Iceland Review

The record store Havarí opened last week on Austurstraeti 6 in central Reykjavík. The store is a cooperative between four companies in the field of music and design, Kimi Records, Borgin Records, Gogoyoko and Skakkapopp.

Music, music-related products, visual art, posters, clothing and other items that the shop managers fancy are sold at Havarí. The store will be open until Christmas and in that time various events will be held there—concerts, exhibitions and more.

In other music-related news, the pop-punkers Mordingjarnir have just completed the recording of their third studio album, which will be entitled Flóttinn mikli (“The Great Escape”) and is scheduled to be released by Kimi Records on November 10.

Mordingjarnir have released a new single, “Manvísa,” currently being played on the radio, with special guest performer Katrína Mogensen from Mammút.
