New Passenger Ship to and from Westman Islands

Tour operator Viking Tours purchased a passenger ship to commence transportation from Vestmannaeyjar (Westman Islands) to the Landeyjarhöfn port this summer. The ship weighs 177 tons and will be modified to fit ocean crossings before regular crossings commence.

Sigurmundur Gísli Einarsson, the owner of Viking Tours, a company based in Vestmannaeyjar, off the southern shores of Iceland, told that crossings to and from the islands are in dire need. The new ship will be able to offer more regular crossings than the current ferry.
