The January-February issue of Iceland Review (0116) magazine is out. It’s on its way to subscribers, but if you’re passing through Keflavík International Airport, you can pick up a free copy.
The issue includes coverage of Icelandic food producers at London’s Borough Market, as well as Icelandic food history, an interview with film director Rúnar Rúnarsson, an in-depth article on the debate on whether to export energy from Iceland to the UK, analysis of the new Nature Protection Act, interviews with creative individuals in the seaside town of Stykkishólmur,and an article on Iceland’s controversial whaling practice.
We also feature the work of contemporary portrait and fashion photographer Anna Ósk Erlingsdóttir and the late photojournalist Ólafur K. Magnússon, who documented life in Iceland for half a century. Moreover, we interview author/designer/musician Ragnar Helgi Ólafsson. Last, but not least, Páll Stefánsson presents a selection of some of his favorite images, taken across Iceland in 2015.
There are also two supplements in this issue: about traveling in North Iceland and Iceland as a destination for conventions and other corporate events.
From now on, Iceland Review will be published six times a year. The magazine began as a quarterly back in 1963, going on to be published five times a year from 2012-2015.
The magazine, which was distributed domestically under the name Atlantica, will now appear under the name Iceland Review, both internationally and locally.
