Two new Icelandic television series, the thriller Hamarinn and the comedy Fangavaktin (see poster) will be aired at the same time on RÚV and Stöd 2, respectively, on Sunday evenings this winter.
Hamarinn, which premieres on October 4, will be shown on RÚV at 8:10 pm and Fangavaktin, which premieres on September 27, begins on Stöd 2 20 minutes later, Fréttabladid reports.
This is the second year in a row that new Icelandic television programs are aired at the same time.
Last year, following criticism by viewers who were keen on watching both programs, RÚV delayed its broadcast of the thriller Svartir englar so that people could also watch Dagvaktin on Stöd 2. But this year neither television station will budge.
Fangavaktin is director Ragnar Bragason’s third television comedy series, following the popular Naeturvaktin and Dagvaktin.
A movie based on one of the characters in the series, Bjarnfredarson, is also in the pipelines and, incidentally, premieres on December 26, the same day as Mamma Gógó by Fridrik Thór Fridriksson.
