“But first we have to hire people, choose the uniforms, organize the seat pockets and polish the airplanes,” the website continues.

At the airline’s Facebook site, applications are called for, and, according to Morgunbladid, almost 600 people have applied for work at WOW Air.

Several tens of positions, both in management and as part of the cabin crew, are available and other positions will be advertised shortly. Preparations for the airline’s operations are going at full speed.

WOW Air is owned by investor Skúli Mogensen, former CEO of Iceland Express Matthías Imsland and others. Part of a dispute which arose between Imsland and Iceland Express has now been resolved.
