Publishing house Sögur announced the release of a new travel guide in English “Top 10 Reykjavík and Iceland” by Icelandic musician and journalist Dr. Gunni this week, written especially with foreign visitors in mind.
The book covers numerous aspects of Iceland and its capital, not just the most frequented tourist destinations such as the Golden Circle with Gullfoss waterfall and the Geysir hot spring area, although main attractions are naturally mentioned.
The book also includes a listing of the country’s main restaurants, shops that carry Icelandic design, tips on the best places to shop for groceries, what kind of candy travelers should taste and practical information on how to travel between regions.
Dr. Gunni, who is in fact not a doctor and whose real name is Gunnar L. Hjálmarsson, has written extensively about consumer issues and practicality and in his book he points out to tourists how to get their money’s worth.
The book is available in the webstore baekur.is.
