The construction of the new hospital building is a labor-intensive project, which will create at least 800 jobs, the PM stated according to mbl.is.

“Búdarhálsvirkjun [hydropower plant] is also on the program,” Sigurdardóttir said, adding, “Increasing the production capacity of the aluminum smelter in Straumsvík, a data center, the first stages of the Helguvík smelter, Sudurlandsvegur highway and other large transport projects, harnessing geothermal energy in the north and the south are all projects, which the government intends to get started on as soon as possible in keeping with the stability pact.”

The PM promised that the government would do everything in its power to overcome hindrances and, “We trust that we will have good cooperation with the pension funds on financing these projects. The participation of foreign investors must also be at hand if these projects are to be undertaken. We are working hard on making this happen.”
