New Exhibition Opens in Artótek Gallery

An exhibition by visual artist Gudrún Audunsdóttir opened in the Artótek gallery in the Reykjavík City Library on Friday. Audunsdóttir is a versatile artist: she paints, sketches, makes collages and takes photographs, which she processes by computer.

Her exhibition is called “Grunnsópad hefi ég gjörvallar hirzlur” in Icelandic (old-fashioned phrasing and grammar) and translates as “I’ve swept all receptacles thoroughly.”

Textile work, fractions from old photographs, paintings and sketches are on display.

This is Audunsdóttir’s third solo exhibition but she has participated in group exhibitions in Iceland, Denmark and other countries as well. She has also designed decor and costumes for various theaters.

The exhibition runs through March 14.
