New Davíd Örn Halldórsson Exhibition in Reykjavík

A solo exhibition by Icelandic painter Davíd Örn Halldórsson entitled “Faunalitir” opened in Gallery Ágúst last weekend. His paintings are described as “powerful” and “intoxicating”.

One of Halldórsson’s more famous works (it’s on the cover of the album IV by Hjálmar).

This is the artist’s second solo exhibition at the gallery. In 2008 his exhibition “absalút gamall kastale” was well received, as stated in a press release.

Halldórsson graduated from the Icelandic Academy of the Arts in 2002 and has since been a very productive artist, exhibiting in Iceland and abroad.

He is known for vibrant colors and unusual media in his work; he paints on wooden boards with oil, spray-paint, and industrial enamel.

The exhibition runs through December 23.
