New CEO for Glitnir Bank

Bjarni Ármannsson resigned on Monday as CEO for Glitnir Bank after a ten-year career at the bank. He was replaced by Lárus Welding, who has served as director of Landbanki Bank’s London branch.

The management exchange was announced at a stockholder meeting where five new directors were elected, Fréttabladid reports.

Thorsteinn M. Jónsson, former chairman for Vífilfell, the producer of Coca Cola in Iceland, took over as chairman for Glitnir Bank.

Ármannsson said he leaves Glitnir satisfied, but first will work with Welding on introducing the management exchange to his staff and employees.
