The National Museum of Iceland is planning an eventful Reykjavík Culture Night, on August 22, including presentations, an art workshop, jazz concerts and guided tours in Icelandic and English around the museum’s exhibitions.

The Culture Night will also be the last chance to see the ancient gold ring that was recently discovered at Thingvellir national park.
The first guided tour in English, entitled “Making of a Nation – Heritage and History in Iceland,” will begin at 11 am on August 22 and lead visitors through the museum’s basic exhibition.
It is followed by another tour, “Child Labour or Training for Life?” at 2 pm, of a photographic exhibition with the same name about young Icelandic children working on land and at sea from 1930 to 1950.
