Nacreous Clouds and Increasing Winds

Nacreous clouds are expected to form over Iceland tomorrow, according to the Icelandic Met Office. Mbl reports.

Better known as mother-of-pearl clouds, nacreous clouds are rare and iridescent colourful clouds that form in the stratosphere, often in up to 30 km (18 mi) height. These types of clouds are mostly seen during winter at high latitudes, such as Iceland.

The Met Office has also issued a yellow weather warning for later today and tonight in North Iceland. Winds are expected to rise there, although the weather is expected to improve greatly by tomorrow.
