Musical fever hits Iceland’s theaters

Five original Icelandic musicals will be staged in theaters in Reykjavík this year. Four of the musicals were composed recently and have never been staged before.

According to Fréttabladid, there have never have so many Icelandic musicals been staged at the same time before. Additionally, the theater season at the junior colleges in Iceland, who have their own shows, is beginning.

The musical Grettir by Ólafur Haukur Símonarson, Egill Ólafsson and Thórarinn Eldjárn will be restaged at the Reykjavík City Theater in the coming months and the new musicals, Hér og nú, Love, Abbababb and Leg, in other theaters in Reykjavík.
