Yesterday a flood Múlakvísl River in southern Iceland broke down a protection wall by the river. An electric mast from Rarik, Icelandic State Electric Company, was situated on the wall and fell into the river when the wall broke down.

The flood is the result of severe rain in the past few days. Workers at Rarik at seen that the floods might damage the wall and had already taken electricity off the lines.
A glacial flood in Múlakvísl swept the bridge off the river earlier this summer, but a temporary bridge was built in one week. This time the flood is not related to any glacial or volcanic activity.
