The proposal includes that a task force be set up by the minister of education, science and culture to look into how to strengthen various aspects of the Icelandic music scene including creativity, concerts, publishing and marketing, ruv.is reports.

The task force would consist of representatives from the Performing Rights Society of Iceland, the Association of Performers and Record Producers and Icelandic Music Export, as well as two representatives appointed by the minister.

The task force would deliver its results no later than May 1, 2013.
