Mother and Baby Escape from Fire

A woman and her child are recovering from smoke inhalation in the Reykjavik hospital after their timber house caught on fire yesterday.

The house, located in Grafarvogur, a suburb of Reykjavík, caught on fire, causing a gas container in the kitchen and on the balcony to explode. The explosion damged near-by homes.

The cause of the fire is yet unknown.
