Most Visitors to Iceland from the UK

Tourists from the UK have increased by 40 percent since last year and represent the largest group in 2012.

Chinese and Japanese tourists have both increased by around 50 percent in the past year, while the number of visitors from the US has grown by 25 percent, reports.

According to the data from Statistics Iceland, most visitors say they would like to return to the country, despite the cost of airfares or ferry tickets averaging ISK 90,000 (USD 754, EUR 612).

The average traveler spends 10 nights in Iceland.

Nature was cited as the country’s main attraction.
