A potential Morrissey concert in Reykjavík could be in the works, visir.is reports.
Halldór Kvaran at concert promoters RR ehf had been negotiating with the UK artist on a potential concert at Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavík but Morrissey has ruled that out because meat is served on the menu at Harpa. Morrissey is known for his opposition to eating meat.
“I love Iceland and I have waited a long time to return, but I shall leave the Harpa Concert Hall to their cannibalistic flesh-eating bloodlust … ,” he said in a comment posted on fan site True to You.
Halldór told visir.is that Morrissey did not play at venues which sell meat but that they could not control what was on the menu at Harpa. Halldór is looking into other venues and says that an Iceland concert date is still a possibility.
Morrissey was the vocalist of 80s rock band The Smiths.
