Another strong gale warning has been issued for South and West Iceland today and tomorrow. A gale is described as wind more than 20 m/s. The forecast also includes snow for the south and west turning to sleet or rain this afternoon.
Wind will increase in the Northeast to 18 m/s this afternoon and snow is forecast.
Reykjanesbraut highway between Reykjavík and Reykjanes peninsula, Southwest Iceland, as well as Grindarvíkurvegur, the road from Reykjanesbraut to the Blue Lagoon, Kjalarnes and Hellisheiði and Þrengsli mountain passes have been closed. Roads around Iceland are slippery.
