Iceland’s biggest music festival has announced another big chunk of its lineup for this November and, with more still to come, it’s already looking great.
Iceland Airwaves will take over Reykjavík again this November 4-8 and tickets are on sale already.
The festival had already announced acts such as Perfume Genius (US), GusGus, Júníus Meyvant, Ariel Pink (US), M-Band, Batida (PT), Hinds (ES), Fufanu, Teitur Magnússon, East India Youth (UK), Young Karin and more, but an even bigger chunk of the lineup was announced yesterday.
They will be joined by Björk, John Grant with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra (US/IS), Father John Misty (US), La Priest (UK), Låpsley (UK), The Pop Group (UK), Verité (US), Sóley, Bubbi og Dimma, Agent Fresco, Mammút, Hundred Waters (US), Sea Change (NO), Vök, Emmsjé Gauti, Ho99o9 (US), Ylja, AmabAdama, Muck, and Hekla.
Björk will play two shows at Airwaves: one where tickets are allocated ahead of time to armband holders at no extra cost, but will be first-come-first-served; and the other a paid-for ticketed concert for festivalgoers and non-festivalgoers alike.
John Grant and the Iceland Symphony Orchestra will also be included in the festival armband price, but tickets will be distributed ahead of time to avoid overcrowding.
The festival lineup is not complete yet, and it is not too late for artists to apply to play.
