Of Monsters and Men Equal Björk’s Record

Of Monsters and Men’s debut release My Head is An Animal is at number three in the UK charts, equaling Björk’s record for a debut album by an Icelandic artist for her 1993 album Debut, ruv.is reports.

The band has enjoyed considerable success both at home and abroad.

The band’s hit single “Little Talks” is in 12th place on the charts whereas the first single to be released from Björk’s Debut, “Violently Happy”, reached 36th place in the UK charts nineteen years ago.

Björk however still holds the title for the most successful Icelandic artist in the UK charts with her 1995 album Post which reached the number two position.

332,000 copies of My Head is an Animal have been sold in the US and the album sits at 18th place on Billboard’s Top-200. The album peaked at 6th place. “Little Talks” has sold 730,000 copies in North America.

Of Monsters and Men have been touring extensively this summer.
