Missing Woman’s Body Discovered in Lake

The body of Aldís Westergren, who has been missing since February 24, was discovered in Langavatn lake on Saturday afternoon, east of the Grafarholt neighborhood in Reykjavík where she was last seen.

Westergren’s body was discovered by a Coast Guard helicopter. The helicopter had been called out to participate in the search along with the search and rescue service Landsbjörg, who were focusing on the area surrounding Langavatn, Fréttabladid reports.

Emergency services had been searching for Westergren off and on due to factors including weather ever since she was reported missing. Police would like to thank everyone who participated in the search.
