A man who went hunting for ptarmigans with his friends near Gufudalur valley in Bardastrandasýsla county in the southern West Fjords was found dead on Friday. He had become separated from his hunting partner.
The man’s partner contacted the police around 5 pm and reported him missing. Emergency services were called out but before they arrived at the scene, the man’s partner and a farmer from the closest farm had found his body, ruv.is reports.
An announcement from the police says that according to all indications, the man fell ill suddenly and died as a consequence of his illness.
